Athletics Celebrates Welles Crowther 5K

Eagles from many sports came out Saturday morning
Saturday morning, members of the Boston College community gathered on Middle Campus for the annual Welles Remy Crowther 5K, which celebrates the life and heroism of the 1999 BC graduate and former men's lacrosse player who lost his life on Sept. 11, 2001 while rescuing people in the World Trade Center where he worked.Â
Boston College student-athletes and coaches both participated and volunteered at the event, which is now in its 11th year.Â
His parents, Jefferson and Allison, were on hand to welcome runners and volunteers alike as fall sprinkled the BC campus.Â
