Accolades won following Northeast Fencing Conference Duals

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College's Olivia Adragna and Ari Lichy were named ACC Female and Male Fencers of the Week for the Week of January 28, as announced by the conference Thursday.

The accolades follow strong performances by both athletes at the Northeast Fencing Conference Duals this past weekend, held at the Flynn Recreational Complex on the Chestnut Hill campus.

Senior Olivia Adragna helped the women's team go 5-1 in a dual meet with MIT, Brandeis, Vassar, Tufts, Dartmouth and Smith College. The Malverne, N.Y. native went 10-1 overall in the epee event.

For the men's team, freshman Ari Lichy posted a 12-3 record as the Eagles went 3-2 on the weekend, with wins over MIT, Dartmouth and Tufts. Lichy, of San Diego, Calif., helped the Eagles move into third place in the conference standings following the events.

Boston College will return to action this Saturday, January 30, when they travel to Brandeis University for the Eric Sollee Invitational.
