Colby College Carnival Recap

The Boston College men's and women's ski teams travelled to Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, this past weekend to compete in the Colby College Carnival. The Eagles had fair showings in the alpine skiing events on both the men's and women's sides of the competition.
In the men's slalom, the Eagles finished 7th out of thirteen teams. Key finishes for BC came from sophomore Carter Robertson, freshman Aaron Taylor, and senior Keith Schuman, who placed 24th, 26th, and 31st overall out of 44 skiers. For the women, junior Bug Pech was the top finisher for the Eagles, coming in at 36th place out of 48 competitors. The women finished 12th out of 13 teams in the slalom.
In the giant slalom for the men, finishes from Taylor, Schuman, and junior Ryan Barney contributed to a team finish of 9th out of the 13 teams competing in the event. Taylor was the top finisher for the Eagles, coming in at 31st place out of 48 skiers. On the other hand, the women placed 10th out of 13 teams competing in the giant slalom. Top finishers for the Eagles were Pech, freshman Natalie Wetmore, and freshman Dannica Ashnault, who came in at 28th, 38th, and 41st place respectively out of 53 skiers.

Looking ahead, the Eagles will race at the University of Vermont Carnival in Stowe, VT, next weekend.
