Success at Dartmouth Invitational

The men's and women's swim teams both had spectacular meets at the Dartmouth Invitational this weekend. BC competed against Dartmouth College, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and Northeastern over the course of two days. In the end, the men's team finished first overall with a score of 1,272 while the women came in third overall with a score of 674. The men's team defeated University of Massachusetts for the first time in decades while also pushing Dartmouth to the last event, where BC's two 400 yd. freestyle relay teams finished second and third to secure the overall meet win.

Results

BC Highlights:

The men's 200 yd. freestyle relay team of Dan Kelly '16, Conor Chamness '17, David Hunter '16 and Colin Derdeyn '19 came in first place with a new meet record time of 1:24.23.
Dan Kelly came in first place in both the 50 and the 100 yd. freestyle. Both swims set new meet records with times of 20.26 in the 50 and 45.15 in the 100.
Dan Kelly remains undefeated in dual meets in the 50 yd. freestyle for the last three seasons.
Maureen Barron '16 had a top swim in the 50 yd. freestyle with a time of 24.49.
Hanna Hunstad '17 and Madeline Mailliard both saw personal bests, Hunstad in the 200 yd. freestyle with a time of 2:00.83 and Mailliard in the 200 yd. IM with a time of 2:16.17.

Up next, the Eagles have a dual meet against Providence College on the road on Friday, January 29.
