Eagles Crack Top 10 in Latest Poll
September 08, 2015 | Field Hockey
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team is on the rise.
The Eagles are ranked No. 10 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll that was released Tuesday afternoon. It's a move that is certainly deserving, as the team came away from a tough weekend slate that saw them upset then-No. 3 Maryland, 3-2 (OT), earning BC its first win over the Terps in school history.
Two-time defending champion Connecticut remains at No. 1 after opening the season there.
The Eagles will have an opportunity to continue their rise up the rankings this weekend. The team travels to play No. 19 Boston University on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. and at No. 1 Connecticut on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m.
The next poll will be released on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.
