TURNING POINT
- Senior AshLeigh Sebia secured the golden goal for BC six minutes into overtime, pushing in her own rebound
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Redshirt junior Emma Rissinger put the Terrapins out in front only 2:32 into the match, sneaking in a hard shot from the right
- In the 43rd minute, senior Jacqueline Kelleher's corner found the stick of senior Romée Stiekema, who buried her shot to pull the Eagles even
- Four minutes later, a corner proved beneficial for BC once again, as AshLeigh Sebia capitalized on a rebound after Ymke Rose Gote saw her shot saved
- Thunder in the area halted play for just over two hours
- With just under five minutes remaining, senior Anna Dessoye's corner was set down by Rissinger with graduate student Faye Curran blasting it home to knot things up for Maryland
- Following a save off her initial effort, Sebia converted the rebound six minutes into the OT period to give the Eagles the victory
SOUND BITES
"It was a great win. We have been working on our first touch and taking care of the ball and we certainly improved that today against a good Maryland team. The girls really played for each other and they fought through some adversity when Maryland went up 1-0 three minutes into the game. But I think that was the moment they really started to play Eagles hockey.
"I'm happy for the team, the alum who came out to support us and everyone associated with the program. It was a great win but we are focused on Northwestern now."
-Head coach Kelly Doton
