Women Set for Louisville Sunday

The Eagles and Cardinals will meet on Sunday at noon
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's soccer team will open up ACC action on Sunday, Sept. 20 against Louisville at noon. Admission for the match is free.
The Eagles are coming off a tough, 3-2, double-overtime loss against Providence last Sunday. Red shirt junior McKenzie Meehan scored two goals, while Alex Johnson had five saves. Lauren Berman, Lauren Bernard and Gaby Carreiro each recorded an assist in the match.
BC VS. LOUISVILLE
This will be Louisville's first trip to Boston College ... The two teams played for the first time last season at Louisville. The Eagles defeated Louisville, 1-0, on their home turf behind a goal by Hayley Dowd ... The Cardinal head coach is Karen Ferguson-Daye. She has been the head coach since 2000. Ferguson-Daye may be familiar to many local soccer fans as she was an assistant coach at Boston University in 1995 and 1996. Prior to that she was an assistant at her alma mater Connecticut.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Red-shirt junior McKenzie Meehan, senior Jana Jeffrey and senior Coco Woeltz serve as the captains of the 2015 team .. This is Meehan's second season as a team captain and a first for both Jeffrey and Woeltz.

Freshman midfielder Amber Stearns, freshman outside midfielder Gabby Carreiro and transfer Lauren Berman are mainstays in the Eagles starting unit .. Alexis Bryant has started three games in goal this season. She is 2-2 with a 1.76 GAA. Bryant was on the roster last season but did not see time ... Red-shirt junior McKenzie Meehan leads the country and the ACC in goal scored with nine. She currently has 38 goals, just one goal away from tying the program record of 39 set by Kristie Mewis in 2012 ... Boston College will host No. 22 Duke on Thursday night at the Newton Soccer Field at 7 p.m. This will be Blue Devils first trip to BC since the 2013 season ...
