BC HIGHLIGHTS
? Red-shirt junior McKenzie Meehan scored two goals for the Eagles. She now has a league leading nine goals.
? Lauren Berman, Lauren Bernard and Gaby Carreiro each recorded an assist. For Carreiro, it's her team-high fourth of the season.
? Alexandra Johnson made six saves in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
? In the 36th minute, Rachel Ugolik pounced on a loose ball to the left of BC keeper Alex Johnson. From 20 yards out, Ugolik right footed a shot high into the near post corner, which Johnson just missed as it fell into the goal.
? BC had a number of chances, including a header by Lauren Berman which went off the cross bar in the 24th minute. McKenzie Meehan had a header off a cross from Coco Woeltz that just went wide of the near post in the 26th minute.
? The Eagles tied the game in the 56th minute when McKenzie Meehan one-timed a cross from Gaby Carreiro into the near post. Lauren Bernard collected the second assist as she sent Carreiro to the corner.
? Meehan's second goal in the 67th minute came off a nice one-touch pass from Lauren Berman. Meehan ripped a right footed shot into the top corner far post for a 2-1 lead.
? Providence came back and scored in the final seconds of the game when Rachel Ugolik one-timed a deflection in front of the BC goal.
? The Friars won the game just one minute into the second overtime when Catherine Zimmerman was given too much space outside the box. She took one touch away from a BC defender and put the ball in the back of the goal for the win.
GAME NOTES
? The Eagles started Alex Johnson in goal, Coco Woeltz, Allyson Swaby, Madison Meehan, Lauren Bernard, Jana Jeffrey, Gaby Carreiro, Amber Stearns, McKenzie Meehan, Hayley Dowd and Lauren Berman. Woeltz earned her third start of the season while rookies Carreiro and Stearns have started all eight games. First-year player Lauren Berman has also earned eight starts.
? BC held an, 8-7, edge in shots at the half.
? BC outshot Providence, 18-17, while the Eagles had three corner kicks to two for the Friars.
