Chestnut Hill, Mass. -
Boston College junior McKenzie Meehan was named to the watch list for the 2015 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy Watch List as announced today.
There are 28 student-athletes on the watch list and eight represent the ACC.
This is McKenzie Meehan's second season being named to the preseason watch list. Meehan was named to the 2014 preseason watch list but suffered a season-ending injury a week prior to reporting to camp.
Meehan, a native of Rhode Island, had a solid season in 2013 as she set the program record for most goals in a single season with 20, which led the ACC in the regular season. She also led the conference in game-winning goals that season with nine. Meehan earned All-ACC second team honors and was an NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division 1 All-Southeast Regional third team honoree.
As a rookie in the 2012 season, Meehan scored nine goals and finished with 18 points. She was an All-ACC Freshman team honoree. A two-time All-ACC Academic team honoree, Meehan currently has 29 career goals and 51 career points.
Voting for the MAC Hermann Trophy is conducted in late November, when a field of 15 semifinalists is reduced to three finalists. Those three will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis in January, where a news conference will be held to announce the winner, followed by a banquet to honor the three finalists.
