Women's Basketball To Travel To Italy

The Boston College women's basketball team will start workouts Monday morning in preparation for a European trip to Italy this month. The Eagles will go on a 10-day trip from August 15-25 on a trip organized through Basketball Travelers. The Eagles will touch down in Rome on Sunday, August 16, and take a short flight to Milan and begin their trip to Lake Como.
The team is allowed through NCAA rule to train for 10 days prior to the trip. The Eagles travel schedule includes touring the Lake Como area, a day trip to Venice, a visit to the Ferrari Museum in San Marino, the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Vatican City.
After a day at Lake Como, the team will play TK Hannover (Germany) on Monday, August 17 at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Inverigo, Italy. The Eagles second game will be against Basket Montecchio Maggiore at the Polisportivo G. Cosaro in Montecchio on August 19. The final game of the 10-day tour of Italy will be on Friday, August 21 against Adriatic See Sirens at the Palasport Hangar in Pesaro.
The Eagles roster for the tour includes Nicole Boudreau, Alexa Coulombe, Kelly Hughes, Emilee Daley, Ashley Kelsick, Katie Quandt, Rachel Gartner, Martina Mosetti along with the debuts of Kailey Edwards and Ella Awobajo. The BC rookies - Stephanie Jones, Mariella Fasoula and Sierra Bononi - will also be donning an Eagles jersey for the first time on this European tour.
