Vasilyev Claims Captain Weber Days Open

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rising Boston College senior Katya Vasilyev claimed the tournament title at the United States Tennis Association's (USTA) 54th Annual Captain Weber Days Open, which was held last weekend in Stockton, Calif.
Vasilyev earned the title with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sacramento State sophomore Andie Mouzes in the final. In the semifinals, she posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Rachel Chong (Notre Dame '19), following a 6-0, 6-0 win over Juliette Martin in the quarterfinals. Vasilyev as the tournament's top seed.
As a junior at The Heights, Vasilyev posted a 12-8 singles record for the Eagles, including an 8-4 mark at No. 4 singles. In doubles action, she went a combined 9-8, including a 9-6 record with rising junior Emily Safron.
