- Freshman Ymke Rose Gote netted her first career goal five minutes into the second goal.
- The Eagles held a 13-1 shot advantage at the half
- The victory marked the first career victory for Kelly Doton as Boston College head coach.
TURNING POINT
- With the Eagles already dominating the game, junior Leah Frome's goal 19 minutes into the first half helped Boston College turn on the jets and pull away.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took only 1:44 for Eryn McCoy to net her first goal of the season. Off a corner, Emily McCoy passed to a wide open Eryn McCoy who calmly beat the goalkeeper.
- At the 19 minute mark, Leah Frome helped BC capitalize off another corner. Emily McCoy's initial shot was saved by Providence goalie Deidra Clymer with AshLeigh Sebia's resulting shot off the rebound hitting the crossbar. That's when the ball fell to Frome who stuffed it into the open net.
- Freshman Ymke Rose Gote dribbled past defenders into the circle from the left to get free on goal. She then fired off a shot that found the back left corner of the net.
SOUND BITE
"I'm extremely proud of the players tonight. They executed the game plan and really focused on what we needed to fix from our two scrimmages last weekend. The goal is to keep correcting our mistakes, little by little, as the season goes on and they accepted that challenge from the staff. It was a great win tonight.
We had great fans tonight. A lot of family and friends showed up and I know the players could sense their engery. They certainly contributed to the win."
