McCoy Named to Preseason All-ACC Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College junior midfielder Emily McCoy was named to the Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Team released by the Atlantic Coast Conference Tuesday afternoon.
Playing in all 20 games last season, McCoy finished second on the team with 23 points, scoring 10 goals and handing out three assists. The Lancaster, Pa., native was named Second Team All-Northeast Region for her efforts.
North Carolina, Duke, Louisville and Syracuse lead the preseason All-ACC team with two players apiece.
The Eagles, who finished the 2014 season 13-7 with a 3-4 ACC record, received eight points and were predicted to finish seventh in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll also released by the league on Tuesday. North Carolina sits atop the poll with 34 total points.
Boston College kicks off the season at home at the Newton Field Hockey Complex Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. against Providence College.
