Eagles Improve to 2-0 with Colgate Win

HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Boston College women's soccer defeated Colgate, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles are now 2-0 on the season and will leave this week for California to play Stanford and Pacific. Colgate fell to 0-2 early in the campaign.
Through 71 minutes of the game, the two teams were knotted at 0-0. BC got on the board when Hayley Dowd converted on a penalty kick. It was Dowd's first goal of the season.
In the 80th minute, Andrea O'Brien scored her first goal of the season off a feed from rookie Gaby Carriero. It was Carriero's first career point.
Redshirt junior McKenzie Meehan scored her third goal of the season two minutes later to give BC a 3-0 lead.
Freshman Alexis Bryant had four saves in the win, her first career shutout.
BC had the edge in shots (17-10) and corner kicks (5-3).
