BC HIGHLIGHTS

- Redshirt freshman Alexis Bryant made five saves in goal.
TURNING POINT
After Boston University tied the match in the 73rd minute, Meehan put home a free kick from Swaby seven minutes later to clinch the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It only took Meehan 15 minutes to score her first goal of the season. She controlled the ball along the right side with a defender on her and then made a move toward the end line. Meehan beat two Terriers and then took a shot on goal from short range. The keeper saved it and the rebound went into the air. Meehan got a head on her own rebound and found the back of the net.
- Boston University’s best chance in the first 45 came with 17 minutes left when Clare Pleuler took a shot from long range. Bryant was able to get a hand on it to keep the Terriers off the board.
- BC got another quality chance four minutes later when Andrea O’Brien fed a streaking Madeline McCracken. McCracken only had the keeper to beat, but she came well off her line to thwart the attack.
- The Terriers tied the game in the 73rd minute when McKenna Doyle sent a cross into the box from the right side. The ball found an open Rachel Blauner who scored to the tie the match.
- Seven minutes later in the 80th, a BU foul gave the Eagles the ball near midfield. Swaby sent a long ball into the box and it bounced towards goal. Meehan got to the ball with a defender on her and scored a beautiful game-winner over the keeper’s head.
