Hayley Dowd Earns Preseason All-ACC Accolades

Boston College junior Hayley Dowd earned a spot on the 2015 Preseason All-ACC team, while the team was selected to finish eighth in the 2015 ACC preseason poll, as voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.
Dowd, a native of Peabody, was an All-ACC second-team selection in 2014. She led the Eagles in scoring with a career-high 14 goals, three assists for 33 points. Dowd also had five game-winning goals and was a NSCAA All-Southeast Regional second-team honoree.
Florida State, the reigning national champions, was picked as the ACC's preseason favorite, getting 12 first place votes and 193 points.
Virginia grabbed one first place vote and 178 points for second while North Carolina was third with one first place vote and 170 points.
The rest of the poll order was: Notre Dame (144 points), Virginia Tech (132 points), Duke (130 points), Clemson (124 points), BC with 92 points, followed by Wake Forest, Louisville, Syracuse, Miami, NC State and Pittsburgh.
The 2015 campaign opens on Friday, August 21 when Boston College hosts Boston University at 7 p.m.
