July 09, 2015 | Field Hockey
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Incoming freshman Lucy Lytle has earned a place on the U.S. Under-19 Field Hockey Team, which was announced by USA Field Hockey on Wednesday night.
Lytle earned a spot on the junior national team after attending the back-to-back Futures Elite Championship and U19 Junior National Camp, which were both held during the last two weeks at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa.
Lytle, a product of Lake Forest, Ill., will arrive at The Heights after a four-year multi-sport career at Deerfield Academy where she also played ice hockey and lacrosse. On the field-hockey field, Lytle scored 40 career goals and added 16 assists while earning NEPSAC all-star honors as a junior and senior.
The field hockey team is set to kick off training camp in early August before a pair of scrimmages against Boston University on Aug. 21 and UMass Lowell on Aug. 23, both at the Newton Campus Field Hockey Field. The Eagles will formally kick off the 2015 season against Providence on Aug. 28.
