Women's Tennis Garners ITA Academic Awards

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Four members of the Boston College women’s tennis team – as well as the squad itself – were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in its annual academic awards.
As a team, the Eagles posted a qualifying grade point average to earn the ITA All-Academic Team designation.
Individually, graduated senior Sarah Dalton, rising senior Heini Salonen, rising junior Wan-Yi Sweeting and rising sophomore Asiya Dair earned GPAs of 3.5 or high for the academic year to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is bestowed upon any collegiate program that has a cumulative team GPA of at least of 3.2 on 4.0 scale.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
- Be a varsity letter winner
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).
All members of the 2015 ITA All-Academic Teams and ITA Scholar-Athletes will receive a certificate to recognize the achievement.
