Men's Hockey Incoming Class: Meet Casey Fitzgerald

Incoming Eagle Casey Fitzgerald, is not only Boston College's second defenseman being ushered in alongside Josh Couturier, his is the younger brother of junior forward, Ryan.
With the addition of C. Fitzgerald, the Eagles' 2015-16 class is up to six.
The North Reading, Mass., native is a product of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich., and was a member of the gold-medal winning U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team. Fitzgerald led that squad with a +12 rating to help Team USA win gold.
Throughout all of last season, the 5-foot-11 defenseman recorded 25 points (9-16-25) in 57 games for the U.S. National Under-18 Team from the blue line. The previous year, Fitzgerald logged three goals and eight assists for the U.S. National Under-17 club.
Before entering the NTDP, Fitzgerald had a successful two-year stint at Malden Catholic. As a defender, the newcomer totaled eight goals and 33 assists (41 points) in two seasons from 2011 to 2013.
Not only will Casey be joining his brother, Ryan, in the fall, but father, Tom, is the assistant general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
