McCaffrey Named Team MVP

The Boston College women's soccer team held its team banquet to celebrate the 2014 season. The Eagles announced the team captains for next season as well as individual awards.
Juniors McKenzie Meehan, Coco Woeltz and Jana Jeffrey will serve as captains of the 2015 Boston College women's soccer team. The Eagles' new captain corps was voted on by their teammates and coaching staff.
Meehan, who missed the 2014 season with an injury, served as the team captain last year. A native of North Scituate, Rhode Island, Meehan led the 2013 team in scoring with 20 goals and 41 points. She was an All-ACC second-team selection that season. Meehan is a two-time Athletic Director's for Academic Achievement honoree and was also the recipient of the Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award in her sophomore year.
Woeltz, a native of Boston, Mass, started every game last season as an outside back. She has played in 49 career games and is a two-time Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree. Woeltz is also women's soccer Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative as well as a Team Impact ambassador for BC athletics.
Jeffrey played in 18 games, while starting 16 last season. A native of Richardson, Texas, Jeffrey started 16 games, a personal career-high. Jeffrey has played in 59 career games at midfield.
The team also presented a number of awards for the season. Senior Stephanie McCaffrey was named the overall team MVP. The offensive MVP was sophomore Hayley Dowd while the Defensive MVP was freshman Allyson Swaby.
Swaby also picked up team Rookie of the year while senior Emily Hoffend earned the Coaches Award.
