Women's Soccer Inks Shea Newman

Boston College head coach Alison Foley announced the addition of Shea Newman to the 2015 incoming class. Newman transferred from Virginia to Boston College and will join the Eagles soccer program as a freshman.
Newman, a native of Medfield, sat out the 2014 season at UVA as a redshirt. The midfielder played at Medfield High School as a freshman. She scored 25 goals and had 14 assists and earned the Tri-Valley League MVP honor. The team went 21-1-2 and won the Division 2 State Championship. She then transferred to St. Mark's in Southborough. She was an ISL All-Star at St. Mark's in 2011.
A former Boston Globe All-Scholastic team member, Newman was also involved in US Soccer youth national team competition as an Under-14, Under-15 and Under-17. She trains with former New England Revolution defender Francis Okaroh and his Blazers Football Club.
