
Women's Tennis Defeats Wake Forest, 5-2

Winston-Salem, N.C.- The No. 63 Eagles faced off against Wake Forest on Easter Sunday, defeating them 5-2.
In the doubles competition, Wan-Yi Sweeting and Asiya Dair proved to be a solid pairing, winning their last two, defeating Luisa Fernandez and Courtney Meredith, 8-7 (7-4). Emily Safron and Katya Vasilyev improved to 8-5 on the season with a close 8-7 (7-3) victory.
Boston College would go on to win four of the six singles competitions. Emily Safron, Asiya Dair and Katya Vasilyev notched victories in both doubles and singles and have been a key to their team's success.
After finishing their road trip with a 2-1 record, head coach Nigel Bentley praised his team's performance of late.
"I thought the key for us today was winning two tiebreakers in doubles," he said. "The momentum we created by winning the doubles point got us off to good starts in singles. I am really happy for our players. They have worked so hard and it is very exciting to see us earn these tough wins."
The 13-8 (7-4 ACC) Eagles will return to action Friday, April 10 at Georgia Tech.
