Durham, N.C.- Boston College split their doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles came in to the Duke complex and won a hard fought match against NC Central, 4-3. They would then fall short against a powerful Duke team, 7-0.
In the doubles competition against NC Central, the pairings of Kyle Childree/Hank Workman, and Philip Nelson/Aiden McNulty were enough to give Boston College the early lead.
The Eagles would go up 4-0 and clinched the match at that point. NC Central then won three in a row, pulling it to 4-3.
Will Turner was the hero of the day as he put an end to Central's run, winning his match, 6-3, 6-3.
This victory would improve their record to 7-12.
Boston College would then face a very tough Duke team for their second game of the day. Although they lost 7-0, a highlight of the match was Will Turner's battle against Bruno Semenzato, barely losing: 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 1-0 (10-8).
The Eagles will play their next match against Holy Cross this Tuesday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m.
