Chestnut Hill, Mass. -
Boston College junior McKenzie Meehan and sophomore Hayley Dowd have been invited to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team training camp which will run from April 26 to May 3 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
The camp is the final training session before the 20-player roster is release. The team will travel to Norway in May to play Sweden, Norway and England.
It is a positive step for McKenzie Meehan who is now healthy enough to train at a high level again. Meehan, a native of North Scituate, Rhode Island, missed last season due to a freak Achilles injury. She was coming off a rookie season in which she was an All-ACC second team honoree and led the conference with 20 goals.
Dowd, a native of Peabody, started all 19 games and led the Eagles with 15 goals, three assists for 33 points. She had a goal or assist in 11 games and had five multiple point games. Dowd was named to the All-ACC second team and was also an All-ACC Academic honoree.
