Field Hockey Earns 2014 NFCHA Academic Team Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for its academic achievement as a team. The NFHCA honored the top programs earning a 3.0 grade point average or above.
Boston College was one of 66 Division I schools to earn recognition as a 2014 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award recipient.
Six of the seven Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey schools - BC, Duke, Louisville, North Carolina, Virginia, and Wake Forest - earned the accolade.
Dating back to 2003, the eagles have earned the honor 10 times, including seven of the last eight years.
Senior midfielder Emma Plasteras and junior forward Kelcie Hromisin were recently named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Team. The NFHCA Academic Squad will be released in the coming days.
