BC Men With Strong Start To Outdoor Campaign

Raleigh, NC--Boston College Men's team opened up there outdoor season at NC State as part of the Raleigh Relays. The Eagles put together numerous noteworthy performances, including personal records and on BC top-ten all-time finish.
The meet was highlighted by one of the first Eagles' to hit the track, Devaun Bovell. Bovell competed in the 110 Hurdles, in which he finished first in his heat and went on to finish 19th overall. His time, 15.03, set his new personal record, knocking off his previous time of 15.22 which he set at NEICAAA Outdoor Championships last season. The sophomore also put himself among elite company, placing himself in the BC top-ten all- time in the event.
RS Sophomore Ryan Cooney set a new personal record in the 1500 meters, clocking a time of 4:00.71. Senior James Newhouse set his own personal record in the arduous 10,000 meters, recording a time of 30:54.6. This time upset his previous time by a little over a half of a minute. In the same event, Richard Lucas also set a personal record (31:13.37), shaving three seconds off his previous best.
The men's team will join the women's team as they will both travel to Amherst next weekend for the UMass Tri-Meet.
