
Men's Tennis Falls to UC Irvine, 5-2

Irvine, Calif.- Boston College (4-5) lost to No. 60 UC Irvine (6-8), 5-2, at the Palisades Tennis Club in Irvine, Calif. on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles won two singles matches and one doubles match.
Senior Philip Nelson and freshman Kent Mukai each won singles matches. Nelson downed UCI's Nico Mertens, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 1 singles spot, and Mukai bested Jonathan Hammel in a hard fought battle, 7-6, 7-6, in the No. 5 singles spot.
Conor Mullins and Matt Wagner teamed up to defeat Heim and Mertens on court No. 3 in doubles, 6-2.
The Eagles would drop the other two doubles matches as UCI earned the doubles point.
Boston College returns to play on Friday, March 6th, for an all day event at the Pacific Coast Doubles in La Jolla, California.
