Eagles Fall To BU and Colgate

Boston, Mass. -Boston College Swimming and Diving competed in a tri-meet at Boston University against BU and Colgate on January 31. The women lost to both BU and Colgate, final scores were BC 541.8, Colgate 593.3, and BU 762.7 for the win. The men's team came in second place, with a substantial win over Colgate 603.1-396.7, but lost to BU 656.3-603.1.
The men's 200 yd. Medley Relay team of Conor Chamness, Andrew Stranick, John Mooers and Dan Kelly took first place with a time of 1:32.69. Nick Henze took first place again in the 200 yd. Freestyle, this time with a time of 1:42.42. Cole Malatesta had another terrific meet all around, taking first place in both the men's 1 m. diving with a score of 309.45, and in the 3 m. diving with a score of 301.80.
Emily Smith had a strong finish in the 200 yd. Butterfly, clocking in at 2:11.81 for third place overall and first for BC in the event. Maureen Barron came in fourth overall and first for BC in the 50 yd. Freestyle with a time of 25.05, only .14 behind the third place finisher from Colgate.
The next time the Eagles will compete will be on February 7th at the University of Connecticut Open, hosted by UConn.
