Carpenter, Grab Named Eagles of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior Alex Carpenter and freshman Ethan Grab have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
Carpenter has set a new Boston College single-season points record with her 71 points (31-40-71). Carpenter broke her previous record of 70 points set in the 2012-13 season. She tallied two goals and an assist in Thursday's 5-0 shutout of BU. She also recorded the primary assist on Haley Skarupa's game-tying second period goal in Saturday's 2-2 overtime tie. Carpenter continues to lead the nation in every offensive category to date (2.28 ppg, 1.00 gpg, 1.29 apg).
Grab earned the silver medal in the individual epee at the ACC Fencing Championship, claiming Boston College's first-ever All-ACC honor in the process. He went 12-3 in individual bouts at the ACC Championship which was tied for the best mark in round-robin play. Grab defeated the top two seeds in the field during the round robin. Grab then took down the No. 2 seed again in the semifinals before falling in the final.
Women's hockey (30-1-2, 21-0-1 WHEA) will host Providence in the best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal beginning on Friday night at 7 p.m. Next on the schedule for fencing is the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on March 8.
