February 18, 2015 | Field Hockey
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College field hockey senior Emma Plasteras and junior Kelcie Hromisin have been selected to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Team. This is the first All-ACC Academic Team selection for both Plasteras and Hromisin.
To be eligible for consideration for the honor, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average during the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average throughout her academic career.
Plasteras, an English major, also earned First Team All-American honors as well as First Team All-Northeast Region and First Team All-ACC honors for her 2014 campaign. The North Vancouver, B.C. native finished third on the Eagles with 21 points on six goals and a team-leading nine assists.
Hromisin, an applied psychology/human development and biology major, started all 20 games this season while tallying a career-high 18 points on nine goals.
Duke redshirt junior goalkeeper Lauren Blazing earned the 2014 ACC Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year. All seven ACC schools that compete in field hockey are represented on the All-ACC Academic Team, led by Duke with eight players.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports.
