Bovell Sets BC Record at BU Valentine
February 15, 2015 | Men's Track & Field
Boston, MA—The men’s track team travelled down the B-Line to participate in the Boston University Valentine Invitational. The meet was highlighted for the Eagles by sophomore Devaun Bovell.
Bovell took part in the 60 meter hurdles, in which he set a Boston College record of 8.31. Bovell’s previous best came at the ACC Indoor Championships last year, 8.43.
Two Eagles set personal records in the 400 meters event. Sophomore Darren James ran a 48.88, besting his previous indoor time of 49.27 set at last year’s BU Valentine. Sophomore Nick Nash also ran his best time in the 400, clocking in at 49.69.
Senior Patrick Daly set his PR in the 1000 meters, finishing in 2:26.59. This time not only qualifies him for the IC4A, but is also a top-10 BC time in the event. Daly finished twelfth overall.
BC’s fastest mile came from senior Collin Fedor, who posted a time of 4:13.25. This time earns him a spot at the IC4A. This, however, was not the only IC4A-worthy time.
Sophomore James Zingarini set a personal record in the mile with a time of 4:13. 42, earning himself a spot alongside Fedor next month.
