
Women's Tennis Defeats Syracuse, 4-1

Chestnut Hill, Mass.- Boston College hosted Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles would come back from a 1-0 deficit to grab the 4-1 win.
In the doubles competition, Jessica Wacnik and Lexi Borr improved to 8-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory. Syracuse would end up taking the next two doubles matches, giving them a 1-0 advantage heading into the singles competition.
It wouldn't be easy, but Boston College managed to win four straight. Jessica Wacnik battled it out against Amanda Rodgers, winning a close 7-6, 7-6 match.
Katya Vasilyev had another standout performance. After losing the first set 6-3, she managed to register back-to-back wins against Rhiann Newborn for the victory.
"It's nice to get our first ACC win," said head coach Nigel Bentley. "We've been inconsistent thus far this year, but today we played well. We won some important tiebreakers in singles and competed really hard."
Boston College will return to action this Friday, February 20th, for two matches. University at Albany will come in for a 10 a.m. start. Florida International will follow at 5 p.m.
