BC Women Finish Second at Beanpot Championships

The BC women's fencing team finished in second place with at this year's Beanpot Championship, hosted by Brandeis University. The women gave a valiant effort at the eight annual Beanpot, narrowly defeating both MIT and Brandeis but falling to Harvard to go 2-1 for the night.
The women were led by a strong performance from the epee squad, who beat Brandeis (7-2) and Harvard (5-4). Senior Cara Hall (epee) and sophomore Renee Bichette (epee) each finished with a commendable 6-3 record for the night, and freshman Amanda Lewis (foil) posted a 7-2 record.
The men's team went 0-3 at the tournament, losing to MIT, Brandeis and Harvard. The men suffered a close loss to MIT, losing by the thinnest of margins. Outstanding performances from the men include a 6-3 victory over Harvard in the epee, while the foil team defeated MIT 9-0.
