Hockey East Honors Burt as October’s Best in Goal

Eagles’ sophomore goaltender Katie Burt captures HEA goaltender of the month for October
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College sophomore goaltender Katie Burt closed October posting five shutouts in six games, and captured Hockey East women's goaltender of the month honors on Wednesday.
Burt closed the first month of play with an 0.89 goals against average in nine appearances, posted five shutouts and recorded a perfect 9-0-0 mark. Burt also made a career-high 32 saves in the Eagles' 4-2 win over Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 3.
She has yet to allow a goal in four conference games this year, and is third nationally in GAA, fourth in save percentage (.952), second in shutouts (5) and tied for first in winning percentage 1.000). As a freshman, Burt led in the nation in GAA with a 1.11 mark while posting 10 shutouts in 35 appearances.
Burt and the second-ranked Eagles return to action on Saturday, Nov. 7, when they travel down Commonwealth Ave., to face Boston University in a 3 p.m. game at Walter Brown Arena.
