Notre Dame Game One Day Away
The game has been marked on calendars for months now, and we have finally reached the weekend of the Boston College/Notre Dame football game, being held at the historic Fenway Park Saturday evening.
Despite the contest being an away game for the Eagles, the result of the Shamrock Series, a tradition where Notre Dame plays one home game at a neutral site, Rich Thompson of the Boston Herald explains that the opportunity to play at Fenway is exciting for BC Eagles players who grew up watching the Red Sox play there.
With this being the first football game at Fenway since 1968, and the first Boston College football game there since 1956, the Boston Globe took a look at some of the historic games over the years with this Football at Fenway Timeline. Also, check out what the Prudential Center plans to do to root for the Maroon and Gold.
Check out the timelapse of Fenway Park as they transformed from the baseball diamond to the gridiron, compiled by Boston.com.
Eric Avidon of the MetroWest Daily News writes how the BC secondary, a question mark entering the season, proved themselves through the first 10 games and why fans can continue to be optimistic of the group going forward.
Christopher Gasper of the Boston Globe has a column on why Boston is the spot for college football on Saturday.
In other BC News, the Women's Ice Hockey, ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com polls, and senior captain Alex Carpenter, take on No. 5 Northeastern on Friday evening at Kelley Rink. John Connally of the Boston Herald talks with the captains of both squads as they prepare for their battle on the ice.
