The Boston College women's basketball team will host Maine on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Conte Forum. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate.
The Eagles are coming off a, 67-41, victory over Providence in the season opener on Friday night in Rhode Island. BC was led by junior Kelly Hughes with 22 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the three-point arc. Freshman Mariella Fasoula chipped in with 11 points, while redshirt junior Kailey Edwards had 11 points and four assists.
Maine also opened up on Friday night and defeated Harvard, 64-53. The Black Bears were led Sigi Koiza with 22 points while Chantel Charles and Mikaela Gustafson each chipped in with 12 points.
The Series
This will be the eighth meeting between Boston College and Maine. BC has a 5-2 lead in the overall series. The first meeting between the two teams took place on Dec. 11, 1992. BC won the game, 80-65.
Last season Boston College lost in overtime to Maine, 69-64, at the Black Bear Thanksgiving Tournament Championship. Sigi Koizar had 22 points and eight rebounds while Liz Wood pitched in with 16 points.

Team Notes
- With the win over Providence on Friday night, BC is now 6-4 in season openers since the 2005 season. The win over Providence was coach Erik Johnson's first win in the season opener since he arrived at the Heights. Two of the losses were to highly ranked Stanford in 13-14 and 14-15.
- Kelly Hughes hit 6-for-8 from long range on Friday night at Providence. It marked the third time in her career where she hit six three's. Her personal record is seven vs. Wake Forest last season.
- Redshirt junior Kailey Edwards played 20 minutes in her BC debut. She was 4-for-4 from the floor, 3-for-4 from the charity stripe and had four assists.
- Freshmen Mariella Fasoula and Stephanie Jones had strong debuts as well. Fasoula, the 6-foot-4 center, had 11 points and three boards in 24 minutes. Jones, a point guard from Connecticut, had five points, four assists in 18 minutes of play.
- Redshirt rookie Ella Awobajo earned a start in her BC debut. The small forward from Nigeria, had two points, two assists and six rebounds in 17 minutes.
- BC started senior Nicole Boudreau, junior Kelly Hughes, sophomores Martina Mosetti and Katie Quandt along with redshirt freshman Ella Awobajo.
- Boston College will host Holy Cross on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Fans can purchase tickets online or at the gate.
