BC HIGHLIGHTS

• Junior Hayley Dowd scored her fourth game-winning-goal in the 66th minute. It was her seventh goal of the season.
• Sophomore Alexis Bryant had six saves in the first half and made a diving save with 58 seconds to play in the first half to keep the game knotted at 1-1. She finished with a career-high nine saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Freshman Shea Newman sent a long ball into the box. McKenzie Meehan got on the end of the ball and headed it over the Pittsburgh goalkeeper in the 13th minute.
• In the 27th minute, Pittsburgh's Jarena Harmon scored from eight yards out as she broke between two defenders to place the ball into the near post by Bryant.
• Hayley Dowd put the Eagles ahead for good in the 66th minute. Senior Madison Meehan won a 50-50 ball in the midfield. She found Dowd on the side and the junior forward took a couple dribbles, and put the ball on her left foot just outside the box. She placed the shot in the upper-90 far corner for the eventual game-winner for the Eagles.
COACH QUOTE
"The first half wasn't pretty but we adjusted our shape in the second half which created less space in the midfielder to defend. It allowed us to be better connected as a group to keep the ball,'' said Foley. "We scored two great goals tonight which always energizes your team. And of course it's a special night for McKenzie Meehan becoming the all-time leading goal scorer at BC.''
GAME NOTES
• Sophomore defender Allyson Swaby returned to the starting lineup. Senior Madison Meehan moved to the midfield with Swaby sliding back on defense.
• Pittsburgh had the edge in overall shots, 21-14. BC had 12 second half shots and hit two posts. The Panthers had five corner kicks to four for BC.
• Hayley Dowd's goal was her 10th career game-winning goal. She now has 26 career goals.
• Both McKenzie Meehan and Hayley Dowd hit the post in the second half. Meehan finished with a team-high seven shots while Dowd had four.
• BC is now 8-0 against Pittsburgh.
• This victory over Pittsburgh is the second ACC road win of the season for the Eagles.
