Tough Conditions Stifle BC's Attack at No. 1 UNC

Boston College endured a tough outing in dismal conditions on Friday afternoon at No. 1 North Carolina

Boston College lost to the No. 1-ranked team in the country, getting upended at North Carolina in dreary conditions on Friday night in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Eagles are now 2-1-1 in ACC play while the Tar Heels upped their mark to 11-0-1 in conference action.
TURNING POINT
UNC's Alex Newfield hammered home a 12-yard offer in the 16th minute of the match after some crisp passing put the Eagles out of position. The Tar Heels would maintain the pressure and keep Boston College out of their end for the duration of the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Following North Carolina's opening attack at 15:36, the Boston College had its hands full as the Tar Heels lobbed five more corner kicks at BC netminder Alexis Bryant.
With conditions continuing to affect the game, UNC was able to capitalize early in the second half after Joanna Boyles blasted a shot past Bryant about 28 yards out to the right corner in the 51st minute.
Boston College's McKenzie Meehan was able to get a shot off in the 60th minute, but it sailed wide right and North Carolina continued to dictate the pace and carry out the 2-0 victory.

Bryant finished with five saves on the day … Meehan led Boston College with 2 shots on net … Hayley Dowd also offered one shot.

Boston College keeps its ACC road string alive as the Eagles travel to Pittsburgh on Thursday, Oct. 8 for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The following Sunday, BC takes on No. 14 Notre Dame in South Bend for a 1 p.m. game time on Oct. 11.
