Eagles Capture First in Four Events at BU Meet

Boston, Mass. – Boston College women’s track and field competed in the Boston University Multi-Team meet on Thursday. The Eagles captured first-place finishes in four events including the 500m, 800m, 1000m, and the high jump.
Sophomore Camila Isern placed first in the 500m dash, finishing at 1:18.24. Freshman Julia Barron (1:18.38), junior Ashlynn Fields (1:19.86), and senior Marissa Horton (1:21.33) took the next three spots.
Senior Kathy O’Keefe won the 800m in 2:12.76. O’Keefe was followed by teammates Claudia DiSomma (2:13.54) and Shannon Ahern (2:17.69).
Sophomore Kristen Jordan captured first place in the 1000m in 2:55.30 while redshirt freshman Abby Seel placed sixth at 3:05.06.
Redshirt junior Kristen McDonagh won the high jump, posting a final of 1.60m.
Redshirt junior Brittany Winslow ran a strong mile, placing second in 5:03.76. Junior Megan Ritchie (5:08.63), junior Elizabeth Predmore (5:10.78), and sophomore Amanda Rickert (5:15.45) also finished in the top ten.
In the 4x400m relay, the team of Camila Isern, Emma Sullivan, Claudia DiSomma, and Kathy O’Keefe placed second overall at 3:58.97.
Sophomore Danna Levin clocked a time of 10:32.21 in the 3000m, good for sixth overall.
In the 60m hurdles, Julia Barron recorded a personal best 9.40 for third place. Racquel MacDonald posted a 9.47 for fourth while Kristen McDonagh and Christina Franciosi finished in 9.61 and 10.07, respectively.
Freshman Johanna Celli was the high BC finisher in the 60m dash, placing eighth at 8.17. In the prelims, Gabriella Candelieri clocked a time of 8.45, Julia Douglas finished in 8.52, and Christina Franciosi posted a time of 8.66.
Sophomore Robin Gross led the Eagles in the 200m dash, finishing in 25.95 for seventh place overall. Carly Daniel (26.23), Johanna Celli (26.47), Jacqueline Hannon (26.71), Anna Atkinson (27.14), Gabriella Candelieri (27.20), and Julia Douglas (27.90) also competed in the 200m.
Carly Daniel and Robin Gross both placed in the top five in the 400m. Daniel finished third overall in 57.13 while Gross was just behind at 57.14.
Emma Sullivan (1:00.18), Racquel MacDonald (1:00.31), Christina Kyritsis (1:00.55), Jacqueline Hannon (1:01.29), and Elissa Knight (1:04.70) rounded out the BC finishers in the 400m.
Junior Hannah Heider recorded a 4.46m in the long jump.
Freshman Chelsee Porcaro’s long throw of 10.81 placed her seventh overall in the shot put, while sophomore Fallyn Boich tallied 10.29m for ninth.
