Skiing Opens Season at Bates Carnival

NEWRY, Maine--Boston College opened the 2015 EISA ski season at the Bates Carnival in Newry, Maine this weekend. The Eagles finished 13th out of 17 teams after competing in both the men's and women's slalom and giant slalom.
Junior Keith Schuman lead the men to a strong fifth-place finish in the giant slalom. Schuman finished first for the Eagles and 14th overall in the giant slalom. Junior Chris Keating placed 19th, freshman Carter Robertson finished 23 and sophomore Trevor Lennox placed 39th in the giant slalom competition.
The men finished eighth in the slalom competition with top finishes from Robertson at 16th, Lennox at 24th and Keating in 27th place. Schuman finished the slalom in 39th place for the Eagles.
The women finished last in both the giant slalom and the slalom competitions. Sophomore Bug Pech's was the top skier for the Eagles in the giant slalom with a 38th place finish. Freshman Maggie Gilligan's placed 38th in the slalom competition, followed by sophomore Kristie Ryan in 39th place.
The Eagles will travel to Stowe, VT to compete in the UVM Carnival this weekend.
