Chestnut Hill, Mass. -
Boston College senior Stephanie McCaffrey has been named to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National team roster for the first training camp of the year as announced by US soccer on Dec. 31. The training session will run from Jan. 3-10 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California.
This is not new territory for McCaffrey as she was called into training by the Under-23 head coach Steve Swanson in May of 2014.
The senior from Winchester had a solid final season with the Eagles this past fall. McCaffrey was a first-team All-ACC selection. McCaffrey was the teams' second leading scorer with six goals and a team-high seven assists for 19 points. She has compiled 90 career points, which makes her only the fourth players to score 90 or more points in program history. She was also a 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's All-Southeast Region second team honoree. She is also a three-time All-ACC honor roll student and an Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree.
McCaffrey will graduate from Boston College in May of 2015 with a degree from the Carroll School of Management.
