The Boston College women's basketball will travel to Charlottesville to play at Virginia on Thursday night at the John Paul Jones Arena at 7 p.m. Fans can view the game on the Virginia website.
Boston College is now 8-8 (0-3) on the season while Virginia is now 12-4 (2-1). Both teams are coming off losses on Sunday afternoon. Boston College lost to No. 4 Notre Dame. The Eagles were led by sophomore Emilee Daley with 12 points and freshman Ashley Kelsick added 11 points. Junior Karima Gabriel had a career-high 12 rebounds in the loss.
Virginia lost to Syracuse, 70-58, despite 24 points from Faith Randolph. It was the Cavaliers first ACC loss.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY
- On Jan. 15, 1997, Boston College defeated Pittsburgh, 70-66, behind Cal Bouchard's 19 points and 14 points and 10 rebounds from Holly Porter. BC hit 24-of-30 free throws and led by eight at the half. It was the fourth season for former BC coach Cathy Inglese at the helm of the Eagles. The team finished the season at 18-10 after earning a win over St. John's in the Big East Tournament before bowing out to Miami.

- The Eagles next home game is on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. against Syracuse. Prior to the game, the program will host a Girls and Women in Sports Event. There will be skills and fitness stations conducted by BC athletes from the women's soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, softball, fencing, rowing and volleyball teams. The skills and fitness stations will begin at 10:30 and run for one hour. The teams will then conduct an autograph session from 11:30-12:30 p.m. leading to the 1 p.m. tip-off between Boston College and Syracuse. Youths interested in attending can enter through Gate B of Conte Forum and must arrive before 10:15 a.m. to participate in the skills sessions. All youths accompanying adults will have free admission to the women's basketball game. Kids must be in eighth grade or younger.
