The Boston College (7-2-0) women's soccer team opens up Atlantic Coast Conference action against No. 5 Florida State on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.) at the Newton Soccer Field.
The Eagles are coming off a tough, 3-2, loss to South Florida on Thursday night. Senior Stephanie McCaffrey had both goals in the first half. The loss was the first in six games for the Eagles.
Florida State defeated Conn, 3-2, on Thursday night. Carson Pickett had three assists while Berglund Thorvaldsdottir had two goals.

BC vs. FSU
• FSU leads the overall series, 11-1-2.
• BC and FSU played twice last season. The first game took place on October 3, 2013 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles came back from a 2-0 first half deficit to defeat the Eagles, 4-3. At the time, FSU was ranked fifth in the country. BC was led offensively by two goals by McKenzie Meehan and one by senior defender Zoe Lombard.
The second game was in the NCAA Tournament in the Elite Eight. The Eagles opened the NCAA Tournament with wins over Northeastern (2-0), Nebraska (4-0) and Illinois State (4-0) before playing FSU in Florida. The Eagles fell to the Seminoles, 4-0.
• BC's lone victory against Florida State came in the 2012 regular season when the Eagles beat then-No.1 FSU, 3-2, on a game-winning goal by Kristie Mewis with 10 minutes to play. The game was at the Newton Soccer Field.
