COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior Jessica Wacnik, sophomore Katya Vasilyev and freshman Lexi Borr swept singles matches Nos. 1-3, freshman Emily Safron captured a victory in the No. 5 slot and visiting Boston College won two (of three) doubles matches to earn a 5-2 conference victory at Maryland at the Tennis Center at College Park on Saturday.
The match marked the regular-season finale for Boston College, which finished 13-8 overall and 5-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Eagles next will travel to Cary, N.C., for ACC Championship play (Thursday, April 24 – Sunday, April 27). Maryland hosts NC State in their final regular-season matches on Sunday.
Wacnik, Vasilyev, Borr and Safron each were straight-set winners for the victors.
Wacnik teamed with Borr to capture a victory in the No. 1 doubles position, while Vasilyev and sophomore Wan-Yi Sweeting were victorious in the No. 2 position, sealing the doubles point for the visiting Eagles.
