Field Hockey Earns 2013 NFHCA Academic Team Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for its academic achievement as a team. The NFHCA honored the top programs earning a 3.0 grade point average or above and BC was one of teams to earn recognition as a 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award recipient.
All seven of the Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey schools - BC, Duke, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Syracuse and Wake Forest - earned the accolade.
Dating back to 2003, the Eagles have earned the honor nine times, including the last six of the last seven years.
Recently seniors Paige Norris and Virgynia Muma, along with sophomore AshLeigh Sebia, were named to the All-ACC Academic team. The NFHCA Academic Squad will be released in the coming days.
