Men's Track and Field Competes at IC4A Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston College men's track and field team competed at the IC4A Track and Field Championships at Boston University over the weekend. The team came in 35th with three points. The Eagles were led by the 4x400m team, which broke the school record twice, and now has the top two times in BC history.
The 4x400m team of Daniel Ashenden, Darren James, Jack Hennessy and Connor O'Neill finished third in their heat with a time of 3:13.67, breaking the school record and qualifying for their first ever IC4A final. In the finals, the team finished sixth in 3:14.45 to earn Boston College three team points.
Ashenden and O'Neill doubled at the meet as the former competed in the 200m, crossing the line in 22.44, and the latter finished the 500m in 1:05.08.
BC ran well in all of the relay races, as the 4x800m team of Ciaran Murphy, Patrick McGuirk, Tyler Hanson, and Robert Somary crossed the line in 7:51.79 while the distance medley relay team of James Zingarini, Obinna Nwankwo, Kellen MacDonald, Richard Lucas finished 14th in 10:16.10.
In the mile, Anthony Bellitti crossed the line in 4:15.49, Joseph McConaughy finished in 4:16.47 and Collin Fedor posted a time of 4:19.05.
The Eagles will be back in action on March 28 for the Raleigh Relays, the first meet of the outdoor track season.
