Men's Tennis Sweeps Double-Header

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College men’s tennis team swept both of its matches on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Eagles shut out Hartford, 7-0, in the afternoon and defeated Southern New Hampshire, 7-0, in the evening.
Junior Philip Nelson went undefeated in singles at the No. 1 spot. He defeated Hartford’s Jordan Baclenko, 6-1, 6-1, and Southern New Hampshire’s Mitch Dobek, 6-3, 6-4.
The tandem of Nelson and senior captain Jonathan Raude also went undefeated in doubles action at the No. 1 spot. The duo beat Hartford’s team of Sharwarko and White, 8-3, and Southern New Hampshire’s Dobek and Wallace, 8-5.
Raude was also successful in both of his singles matches at the No. 2 spot defeating Nick Sharwarko of Hartford, 6-0, 6-1 and Juan Arango-Campo of Southern New Hampshire, 6-2, 6-4.
The Eagles head to Princeton, N.J., next weekend as they take on Monmouth on Saturday, Feb. 8 and Princeton on Sunday, Feb. 9.
