Women's Basketball At Hartford On Sunday

Boston College women's basketball team will travel to Hartford to play the Hartford Hawks on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Chase Family Center on the school campus. The game can be viewed on America East TV. Boston College is coming off a tough, 76-67, loss to Indiana in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night at Conte Forum.
BC was led by Kelly Hughes with 10 points and eight rebounds and Nicole Boudreau with nine points, five rebounds and five assists. Kat Cooper added nine points and eight boards off the bench. Hartford played at Dartmouth on Thursday night and fell, 49-43. The Hawks were led by Cherelle Moore with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams are in need of victory on Sunday.
Boston College leads the overall series, 9-1. Last season, Boston College earned a 65-45, victory at Conte Forum. Five players were in double-figures including Kristen Doherty who finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Hartford's win over Boston College came in the 2009 season when the Hawks stunned the Eagles, 54-45, in their home gym. The first time the two teams met was in the 1985 season. Boston College defeated Hartford, 80-40, on the Eagles home turf. Ann Odoy, a native from Connecticut, led the Eagles with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Boston College came back from a 13 point deficit to earn an 82-72 victory over St. Mary's on Sunday in Moraga, California. Kelly Hughes finished with a career-high 24 points with seven rebounds and six assists, while Nicole Boudreau had xx points and nine rebounds. BC shot 52 percent from the floor in the final 10 minutes of the game. The Eagles hit 10-of-12 foul shots and went 4-for-9 from the three-point arc. In the Eagles runs, Boudreau had 12 points and Hughes had seven.

On Dec. 7, 2002, Boston College was ranked No. 22 in the country. The Eagles hosted Temple and came back from an 11 point deficit to earn a, 69-62, victory over the Owls. The Eagles relied on the hot-shooting Jessalyn Deveny who scored 16 of her team-high 23 points in the second half run. Deveny and Amber Jacobs hit 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final minute to seal the win. Jacobs had 16 points while Becky Gottstein added 15 points and eight rebounds. BC improved to 4-1 after the victory.

- Ashley Kelsick has started the last six games. She leads all rookies with six starts.
- Fellow rookie Marti Mosetti has started the last three games and has four on the season.
- Kat Cooper matched her career-high in rebounds when she grabbed eight boards against Indian on Dec. 3.
- Kelly Hughes has led the Eagles in scoring in five games this season. She is averaging 15.7 points per game. Nicole Boudreau is second on the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game average.
