McCaffrey, Dowd Earn NSCAA Second Team Honors

The Boston College women's soccer team had two players - Stephanie McCaffrey and Hayley Dowd - named to the 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's All-Southeast Region team today.
McCaffrey, a senior, earned second team honors for the second consecutive season. The Eagles forward was second on the team in scoring with six goals, seven assists for 19 points. A native of Winchester, Mass., McCaffrey became the fourth player in program history to post 90-plus career points. She finished with 32 career goals, which is fifth on the all-time list. Her 26 career assists is fifth on the all-time list. McCaffrey was an All-ACC first-team honoree for the second consecutive season.
Dowd, a sophomore, also earned second team honors. A native of Peabody, Mass., led the team in scoring with a career-high 15 goals, three assists for 33 points. She led the ACC in goals scored and was second in points during the regular season. Dowd also had a team-high five game-winning-goals. The Eagles forward has had four two-goal games this season.
