
Carpenter, Kent Garner Monthly Hockey East Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Junior forward Alex Carpenter and freshman forward Kenzie Kent garnered Hockey East monthly honors for November, earning Warrior Player of the Month and Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month, respectively.
Carpenter led the nation in every offensive category in November, recording 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists despite missing two games while playing with the U.S. National Women’s Team at the Four Nations Cup. Carpenter tallied at least one point in each game, scoring three or more points five times. The junior forward leads the NCAA in goals (17), assists (22) and points (39).
This is Carpenter’s seventh career monthly award by the league. In addition to being named Player of the Month in October, the North Reading, Mass. native earned the accolade in January and February of 2013 and Rookie of the Month in October, December, and March of 2012.
Kent earns Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month after being named runner-up for the award in October. Kent picked up a point in seven of nine games played in November, notching two goals and 11 assists. The Norwell, Mass. native’s 13 points were the most by any rookie in the month of November. Her performance last month moved her to the top of the Hockey East in assists per game by freshmen (0.88) and first in the league and fourth in the NCAA in points per game by rookies (1.12). She leads the league in percentage of faceoffs won (.582), sits fourth overall in the league in assists (14), and is tied for sixth in overall points (18).
The No. 1 Boston College women’s ice hockey team (15-0-1, 9-0-0 WHEA) travels to Orono, Maine to take on the Black Bears Friday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.
